A Massage For Exited N-POWER Beneficiaries – By Mlanga LevinusThe federal government of Nigeria made a mistake of not proactively planning for both entry into and the exit from the program when it was initially instituted. Consequently, all the Npower beneficiaries should note that any arrangement being made at the moment is rather cosmetic and ad-hoc. Though half bread they say is better than none.
However, history will be fair to you the beneficiaries that the recruitment process that brought you on board turns out to be the best nationwide mass recruitment exercise ever conducted in Nigeria by any president dead or alive.
The only recruitment that rendered the wisdom, money, strategies and greed of godfathers and politicians null and void. Because as far as the programme is concerned, the children of the poor and seemingly hopeless Nigerians equally got the opportunity to be apart of the scheme.
The majority of the beneficiaries were youths from less privileged backgrounds. Perhaps, this is the major reason why vital institutions of governance like the National Assembly, Federal Executive Council and the Governors Forum seem not to be showing any concern for the survival of the scheme.
It is however very important to note with absolute certainty that while the children of the poor seem not to have anybody fighting or standing for them, God is with you always. I hereby enjoin ever respected and ever-patient exited beneficiaries to consider this transition period as a time to pray for a better offer than what may be insinuated or proposed as the exit package.
