Reservoir Engineer / Advisor II
Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract
Main Duties
- Assist the Reservoir Leadership Team in meeting project and technical targets.
- Maintain high technical integrity and advise on reservoir strategies.
- Develop reservoir management programs and plans.
- Supervise engineers and assist them in implementing project goals.
- Conduct simulations and related technical evaluations.
- Handle all necessary analysis for simulation tasks, including PVT and permeability evaluations.
- Review depletion planning and support in asset acquisition decisions.
- Join and guide technical peer reviews.
- Offer insights to drilling, facilities, and other related departments.
- Mentor junior reservoir engineers.
- Report and present findings and recommendations clearly.
- Provide timely project updates to management and stakeholders.
Tasks & Additional Responsibilities
- Set up project strategies with the team and manage project risks.
- Conduct risk assessments and support with data collection decisions.
- Promote safety learnings and facilitate team meetings when necessary.
- Undertake additional technical services as required.
Skills & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
- Extensive experience in reservoir engineering roles in oil and gas.
- Solid understanding of dynamic modeling and simulation tools.
- Ability to carry out simulations independently and resolve complex issues.
- Communication and mentoring skills.
- Proven record of handling reservoir management tools and methodologies.
- Must be proficient in MS Office and fluent in English.
Specific Criteria
- 10+ years experience in reservoir engineering.
- Skilled in simulation techniques and technical assessments.
- Familiar with nodal analysis, PVT, SCAL, and transient pressure analysis.
