African Export Import Bank (Afreximbank) was formed in Abuja, Nigeria in October 1993 by a collaboration of African governments, private sector investors, institutional players, and non-African financial bodies. The bank was designed to finance and enhance both intra-African and global trade.

The Bank has its headquarters in Cairo, Egypt, and started operations on 30 September 1994 after finalizing a headquarters agreement in August that same year. It currently runs regional offices in Abuja, Harare, and Abidjan, with plans to establish another in East Africa soon.

We are hiring to fill the following roles:

Assistant Manager, Communications & Events

Location: Cairo, Egypt
Working time: Full-time

Job Summary
This role will contribute to the development and delivery of Afreximbank’s corporate and strategic events.
Reporting to the Communications and Events Management unit, the person in this role will help create impactful and high-quality events supporting the Bank’s mission of enhancing African trade.
The position includes event planning and digital engagement responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Planning:

  • Assist in executing the Bank’s event-focused communication strategy.
  • Help manage key Bank events such as:
    • Annual General Meetings
    • Trade Finance Seminar
    • Compliance Forum
    • Afri-Caribbean Trade & Investment Forum
    • Babacar Ndiaye Annual Lecture
    • Webinars and internal functions

Execution & Operations:

  • Handle logistics for events, such as venue booking, program setup, vendors, speaker outreach, and guest management.
  • Ensure consistency in event branding, flow, and experience.
  • Generate reports and feedback post-events for internal review.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Work with leadership, governments, and partners for smooth coordination.
  • Manage agency partnerships for event execution.
  • Support HR and internal teams in organizing retreats, seminars, and staff events.

Digital & Media Engagement:

  • Build interactive digital features for virtual or hybrid events.
  • Coordinate with digital teams for increased online visibility.
  • Arrange media interactions and coverage.

Branding & Budget Management:

  • Supervise event-related budgets, vendor costs, and resource use.
  • Maintain adherence to the Bank’s branding in all event touchpoints.
  • Archive promotional material and visuals for future use.

Innovation:

  • Apply best practices in event production.
  • Collaborate with teams to align events with messaging goals.
  • Manage high-level online events involving key executives.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s and postgraduate degree in Communications, Marketing, or Event Management.
  • At least 8 years of proven experience in event execution, ideally at an international organization.
  • Familiarity with digital and in-person event delivery.

This role is responsible for leading major Afreximbank events aligned with the Bank’s mandate to drive African trade.
The individual will manage all aspects of event design, planning, and implementation, working in sync with internal and external partners to ensure brand consistency and impactful delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Strategy & Leadership:

  • Shape the Bank’s communication strategy with events as a central focus.
  • Lead planning and execution of events like:

    • ACTIF
    • Webinars, roadshows, internal meetings

Operations & Delivery:

  • Execute end-to-end event production and guest experience.

  • Produce post-event reports for learning and strategy refinement.

Team & Vendor Management:

  • Collaborate with HR and internal departments on internal knowledge sessions.
  • Supervise vendors and agencies for consistent service delivery.

Analyst, Regional Operations (Francophone West Africa Regional Office), Client Relations

Job Summary
This role supports administrative and business operations of Afreximbank’s regional office in Abidjan.
The Analyst will assist the Regional Chief Operating Officer in managing internal systems, external stakeholder communication, and business development.

Key Responsibilities

Executive Support:

  • Serve as Personal Assistant to the RCOO for scheduling, travel, and meetings.
  • Draft communications and coordinate tasks between departments.

Document Handling:

  • Maintain records and reporting systems (physical and electronic).
  • Assist with monthly data summaries and marketing materials.
  • Prepare official documents and internal memos.

Business & Client Support:

  • Help prepare regional strategic plans.
  • Support Client Officers in planning outreach and maintaining marketing materials.

Office Management:

  • Handle reception and logistics for conferences and meetings.
  • Oversee travel logistics and office supplies.

Protocol Assistance:

  • Support visa, permit, and diplomatic clearance processes.
  • Liaise with embassies and local authorities.
  • Organize diplomatic receptions and clearances.

Minimum Requirements

Education:
