Since its inception in 2018, BCAI has focused on policy advocacy, community outreach, skill development, digital campaigns, and research to eliminate barriers faced by these groups.
BCAI partners with local communities and stakeholders, including government bodies, to co-create impactful solutions that empower women and youth to live with dignity and safety.
Over the past six years, the organization has implemented impactful programs focused on education, health, and gender safety, working to delay early marriage, reduce gender-based violence, and foster inclusive economic growth.

Program Lead – WAVES Program
Location: Kano (On-site)

About the WAVES Project
The Women Against Violence Empowered through Sustainability (WAVES) initiative uses a survivor-led model to confront Gender-Based Violence (GBV) by providing at-risk and survivor women with vital skills and opportunities to become economically independent.
Combining sustainable farming, entrepreneurship, and environmental care, the WAVES approach cultivates a network of empowered female entrepreneurs in Nigeria. The project champions economic security as a powerful way to prevent GBV.
WAVES also focuses on proactive and reactive GBV support, community involvement, and advocating for broader system changes using data-backed strategies and collaborations with grassroots groups.
Position Overview
The Programs Lead will oversee the design, coordination, and implementation of the WAVES program along with related GBV initiatives under BCAI.
This person should have strong leadership skills, a solid background in GBV programming, and a strong commitment to women’s safety and empowerment. They will manage a team and oversee survivor-centered programming and support systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead planning, execution, and review of GBV-focused activities.
- Oversee program implementation across multiple locations.
- Supervise teams delivering survivor care, psychosocial support, and referrals.
- Build effective partnerships for GBV case management and services.
- Create training sessions and support learning for project staff.
- Collaborate on data collection and impact assessments.
- Identify and pursue funding and grant opportunities.
- Represent the program in advocacy and coordination meetings.
- Prepare periodic reports and contribute to policy influence efforts.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field such as Gender Studies, Psychology, Public Health, or Social Work.
- Minimum of 3 years of work in GBV or related program areas.
- Experience leading or managing GBV programs.
- Deep understanding of case management, ethics, and GBV global standards.
- Ability to guide teams and manage cross-cultural settings.
- Strong skills in reporting, training, and communication.
- Fluency in English and knowledge of Hausa is a bonus.

Requirements
