In recent news, the hardship faced by many Nigerians is set to intensify, as the price of cooking gas witnesses a steep rise, according to Olatunbosun Oladapo, the president of the Nigerian Association of Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers (NALPGM). In a troubling development, the cost of cooking gas has surged by 9%, shifting from N680 per kilogram to N745 per kilogram, putting additional financial strain on Nigerian households.

Sadly, the consumers’ ability to spend has not risen to meet these mounting costs, resulting in widespread difficulty in affording cooking gas. Oladapo urges the government to intervene, suggesting the introduction of palliatives and other measures to alleviate the citizens’ distress during these challenging times
