Portfolio Manager

Location: Abuja, Nigeria (On-site with flexibility for remote work)
Reports To: Managing Director

Main Function:
The Portfolio Manager will be responsible for directing, enhancing, and growing the company’s business and investment portfolio.
This role focuses on achieving business alignment, improving financial outcomes, minimizing risk, and optimizing the operations of subsidiaries and project units.
As the main link between subsidiary entities, project managers, and senior executives, the role’s success will be determined by value addition, operational excellence, and the achievement of strategic and financial goals.

Key Duties:

Portfolio Strategy and Supervision:

  • Shape and execute portfolio strategies in line with long-term business plans.
  • Monitor overall performance, explore growth, and manage restructuring or divestment when needed.
  • Head strategic planning for expansion projects, assessments, negotiations, and integrations.

Finance and Performance Analysis:

  • Set and monitor KPIs across the portfolio to measure progress on goals and profitability.
  • Produce reports with key insights, trends, and recommendations.
  • Partner with subsidiary financial teams for planning and forecasting.

Risk and Governance:

  • Recognize and mitigate potential portfolio risks such as operational, legal, or market-based.
  • Ensure subsidiaries meet internal and external compliance requirements.
  • Report critical risks to management and recommend solutions.

Operational Optimization:

  • Drive operational synergy among portfolio businesses.
  • Offer advisory support to MDs for decision-making and goal tracking.
  • Foster a culture of continuous performance and accountability.

Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Act as the point of contact for investors, regulatory bodies, and key partners.
  • Deliver clear and structured communications regarding business performance.
  • Draft investor presentations and strategic updates.

Requirements:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related fields.
  • MBA or CFA is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • 7–10 years in investment management or strategy roles in multi-company environments.
  • Proven ability in managing portfolios and maximizing returns through strategic leadership.

Responsibilities:
