Number of Registered Candidates

A staggering 1,595,779 candidates had registered to take the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) in 708 CBT centres across 105 examination towns in Nigeria, as per JAMB spokesperson, Dr Fabian Benjamin.

The numbers reflect the growing interest and importance of higher education in Nigeria, as more and more candidates compete for limited admission spots in universities and other tertiary institutions.

Excluded Results

It’s important to note that the results released by JAMB do not include the scores of candidates who were rescheduled to take their UTME on Saturday.

Additionally, the results of absentees, candidates under investigation, and visually impaired candidates are currently undergoing processing and are yet to be released.

The board is committed to ensuring that all results are accurately processed and released in due time.

How to Check Results

Checking the UTME results has been made easy by JAMB. Candidates can check their results by sending a simple text message.

All that is required is to send “UTMERESULT” to 55019 or 66019 from the same phone number used during registration, and the result will be sent back as a text message.

This simple process makes it convenient for candidates to quickly and easily access their UTME scores.

Returned Result

Dr. Fabian Benjamin has clarified that when candidates check their UTME results, the response they receive will indicate whether they were absent, rescheduled, or under investigation.

Candidates who do not fall under any of these categories will receive their results. However, candidates who were rescheduled must print their slips by Thursday and Friday to know their exam time and venue.

They should note that they will be grouped in a central location within their respective states, and thus must make sufficient arrangements to take their exam.

To ensure timely preparations, it is essential that they print their notification slips no later than May 4th, 2023.

In conclusion, the release of the 2023 UTME results is crucial for candidates seeking tertiary education in Nigeria. To check their results, candidates can send UTMERESULT to 55019 or 66019 using the phone number used for registration. Those under rescheduled categories must print their slips by Thursday and Friday to know the exam’s time and venue.
