We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

Marine Assurance Supervisor

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Job Description

  • Provide marine assurance services for SCiN’s marine activities.
  • Contribute insights for marine support activities with project teams and stakeholders, ensuring HAZID-related recommendations are implemented.
  • Supervise and track vessel assurance operations and related staff (both internal and external).
  • Maintain documentation on systems like GMAS and SharePoint.
  • Keep assurance records updated for vessels, operators, terminals, jetties, and logistics bases.
  • Ensure approval protocols are followed before any vessel deployment.
  • Conduct onboard MFE sessions and overnight vessel checks.
  • Evaluate mobile offshore units such as jack-up and project barges.
  • Analyze anchor handling procedures and stability protocols.
  • Review DP station keeping functions and conduct onboard trials.
  • Perform FMEA desktop assessments including annual and proving trials.
  • Review vessel documents before on-site inspections.
  • Implement periodic inspections during vessel contracts.
  • Assist in HSE capability assessments of vessel operators.
  • Work with project teams to meet marine assurance compliance needs.
  • Verify onboard fixes or inspections post-maintenance or breakdowns.
  • Participate in investigations of marine-related incidents.
  • Be available in the Marine Duty Supervisor call-out rotation for urgent needs.
  • Support contractor coordination for inspection tasks and compliance work.

Additional Requirements

  • 1 opening for Marine Assurance Supervisor (office-based, Lagos).
  • Must hold Master Class 1 or Chief Engineer Class 1 (Foreign Going) Certificate of Competency.
  • 15+ years’ experience in marine logistics, including 10 years of sea service and 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Class 2 Deck or Engineering Certificates with similar sea and management experience will be considered.
  • Must have access to office tools for reporting.

Marine Operations Supervisor (MOC)

Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Contract

Responsibilities

  • Help achieve SCiN’s marine HSSE and “Goal Zero” standards.
  • Review and assess vessel daily logs; raise issues with Contract Holders and archive appropriately.
  • Generate and dispatch ERT step-out documents for all SCiN vessel activities.
  • Manage vessel movement coordination with SOC and SEV support.
  • Tackle scheduling and task conflicts to reduce business interruptions.
  • Monitor and report on monthly EFMS and fuel usage.
  • Maintain and share daily vessel activity logs.
  • Join SOC and ILS planning meetings.
  • Participate in daily offshore and marine operations discussions.
  • Oversee operational needs for vessels supporting SNEPCo and related projects.
  • Assist Marine Assurance to update systems and documents.
  • Conduct departure checks for vessels as needed.
  • Liaise with external vessel stakeholders.
  • Be part of after-hours Marine Duty Supervisor support.
  • Maintain top-tier HSSE standards per SCiN and global marine protocols.

Additional Requirements

  • 1 opening for Marine Operations Supervisor (office-based, Lagos).
  • Minimum qualification: Master Class 1 or Chief Engineer Class 1 (Foreign Going).
  • Must have 15+ years’ experience, including at least 10 years at sea and 5 years in senior management.
  • Applicants with Class 2 Certificates and over 5 years’ sea experience at leadership level will also be considered.
  • Access to equipment for generating operational reports is essential.
