Npower Permanency – 200,000 Volunteers To Get Permanent Appointment
The Vice President of the Federal Republic has pledged to all Npower volunteers who will go out to create jobs among youth and reduce poverty.
In a virtual meeting of the Federal Executive Council meeting being held on January 20, 2021, Osinbajo outlined a robust plan for all the recently departed Npower volunteers.
The federal government has unveiled plans to include batches A and B, which were recently removed from the Npower program.
N-Power beneficiaries who have completed the two-year work program will now be able to access permanent job opportunities or business opportunities in line with N-Power’s exit strategy, the Nigerian Presidency has announced.
200,000 agents alongside Batch A volunteers will join as financial service operators under the Network Expansion Facility (SANEF), which will be anchored by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
Meanwhile, Batch B volunteers of 30,000 volunteers will be used as agro enumerators.
“200,000 beneficiaries will be covered under the scheme as financial service operators under the Joint Agent Network Expansion Facility (SANEF) scheme operated by the Central Bank of Nigeria.”
“30,000 beneficiaries have been included in the Economic Stability Plan’s mass farming program as geoscientists and enumerators.
Others will have the option to take advantage of the government-run Empowerment and Enterprises Program (GEEP) microenterprise loans.
“More than 30,000 former N-Agro beneficiaries have been registered and stationed in local government areas across the country for field mapping, farmer enumeration under the collective farming program.

Volunteers are expected to register their interest by filling in the online form provided by the Ministry of Humanity as the planned launch of the program will not be delayed.

This was part of the minister’s report on progress in the implvementation of the Economic Sustainability Plan, ESP. of the Buhari Administration as Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, SAN, presides over a meeting of the Economic Sustainability Committee at the Presidential Villa.
He added that “for the enumeration which involved geospatial tagging, almost 73,000 N-Power volunteers were trained and 30,000 of them deployed to 774 Local Government Areas.
For the purposes of funding through the CBN, the minister disclosed that 2.9million of the farmers have had their BVN enrollment validated.
Also, according to him, the clearing of 3,200 hectares of land for farming is ongoing in several States including Edo, Plateau, Ekiti, Cross River, Ogun, Kaduna, Kwara, and Osun States while rural road constructions have reached about 28% completion covering 344km, linking about 500 markets across the country.
