Hygiene Promotion Team Lead

Mission / Objectives
Reporting to the Activity Manager and working with the Project Manager (PM), the HP Team Lead will oversee all hygiene promotion activities in line with project goals and timelines. The candidate will follow humanitarian values—neutrality, impartiality, humanity, and independence—as well as Solidarités International’s core mission.
Key Responsibilities
Planning & Supervision:
- Prepare weekly work plans and get approval from the Project Manager
- Organize human and material resources needed for activities
- Supervise project implementation, ensuring guidelines and deadlines are met
- Resolve field issues by informing the PM and proposing operational fixes
Logistics & Admin:
- Support recruitment and training of daily workers
- Ensure proper use and storage of tools and materials
- Track tool and material usage
- Enforce safety procedures at work locations
Reporting & Communication:
- Attend weekly program meetings
- Maintain accurate documentation and archives
- Provide weekly reports detailing activity progress
- Support in drafting monthly reports
- Build and maintain strong relationships with local communities and partners
Profile
- Degree in Public Health, Environmental Health, Nursing, or Education
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role (NGO or government experience preferred)
- Strong English communication; Hausa or other local languages preferred
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, advanced Excel) and Kobo Collect
- Strong project cycle and team management knowledge

Shelter Officer

Job Summary
The Shelter Officer will report to the Watsan Team Leader and coordinate closely with the Shelter Advisor Assistant. The role involves managing shelter-related construction works, ensuring quality and timeliness, and adhering to technical standards and humanitarian principles.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare construction sites
- Recruit, assign, and supervise skilled and unskilled labor
- Oversee distribution of materials to IDPs
- Ensure construction meets technical guidelines
- Supervise teams, contractors, and community participants
- Maintain safety and administrative protocols
- Provide daily and technical reports
- Represent SI at project sites and in coordination meetings
Requirements
- HND in Civil Engineering, Architecture or related field
- Minimum 1-year experience or BSc with at least 6 months in shelter construction (NGO or other sectors)
- Fluency in English and Kanuri/Shuwa
- Project cycle and implementation knowledge
- Familiarity with CAD tools (AutoCAD, ArchiCAD), MS Office

Mission / Objectives
The WATSAN Officer will support the Watsan Team Leader and the Wash Activity Manager by managing field-level water and sanitation activities. The officer will ensure project delivery meets quality standards and supports the overall objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct site assessments and technical evaluations
- Create technical documents like BoQs, drawings, and scopes of work
- Train and assign daily workers
- Ensure quality control of completed work
- Track materials and supervise contractors
- Maintain field stock reports
- Engage with local communities
- Ensure safety procedures are followed

Reporting & Representation
- Update monitoring tools
- Draft progress reports
- Participate in review meetings and stakeholder discussions

Requirements
- ND or Bachelor’s Degree in Civil/Water/Sanitation Engineering, Geology, or Hydrology
- Minimum 1-year experience in similar NGO or government role

- Solid technical and project implementation skills
- MS Office and CAD software proficiency

Field Coordinator Assistant

Job Description
The Field Coordinator Assistant supports the Field Coordinator in administration, program oversight, humanitarian analysis, safety planning, and partner engagement. This role requires maintaining high confidentiality and coordination across teams.
Key Responsibilities
Security Duties:
- Attend security briefings and gather field intelligence
- Conduct departure clearances and coordinate weekly security updates
- Maintain updated contact lists and present security info in meetings
Representation:
- Act on behalf of SI in coordination meetings
- Ensure organizational goals are represented correctly
- Regularly visit program sites
Humanitarian Monitoring & Coordination:
- Monitor activities and report on humanitarian conditions
- Draft strategy input and program reports
- Participate in team and base meetings
- Assist in compiling weekly reports and security briefings
Requirements
- Degree in Law, Business Management, Public Administration, or a related field
- 2–3 years in safety/security coordination within NGO space
- Fluent in English; Hausa and Kanuri preferred
- Knowledge of local dynamics and humanitarian landscape
- Proficiency in MS Office tools
- Preference given to Borno indigenes
