Inventory Officer (Contract)

Job Summary
Our client urgently needs an experienced and dependable Inventory Officer for a temporary contract.
The successful candidate should be proactive, organized, and detail-oriented, with solid experience in inventory and material control, preferably in the real estate or construction industry.

Scope of Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Stock Control:

  • Maintain optimal stock levels to support ongoing projects.
  • Track inventory transactions (receipts, issues, and returns) and update records promptly.
  • Perform routine physical stock counts and reconcile records.
  • Organize the store layout for efficient material retrieval.

Receiving & Inspection of Goods:

  • Check the quality and quantity of materials received against orders.
  • Report discrepancies or damages immediately.
  • Document and update records for received goods.

Distribution & Material Allocation:

  • Issue materials accurately to project teams.
  • Monitor inventory movement between sites with proper documentation.
  • Work with site supervisors to anticipate material needs.

Record Keeping & Reporting:

  • Keep detailed records of stock activities.
  • Generate periodic inventory reports.
  • Support audits and inspections.

Compliance & Safety Oversight:

  • Ensure inventory procedures meet audit standards.
  • Promote safe handling and storage of materials.
  • Identify and report safety hazards.

Equipment and Tool Management:

  • Track issued tools and equipment usage.
  • Coordinate maintenance and repairs when needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of HND or equivalent; additional certification in inventory management is a plus.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in real estate or construction.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials.
  • Proficiency in inventory software and Microsoft Office.
  • Physically fit and detail-oriented.
