Job Opening 1: Child Protection Officer (MRM)
Location: Borno
Role Requirements
To become a champion for every child, you will need:
- A University Degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or other related Social Science fields.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in social development planning and management, particularly in child protection-related areas.
- Experience in humanitarian contexts, notably in protracted humanitarian crises.
- Prior experience in program development in child protection-related areas within a UN system agency or organization would be a significant asset.
- Experience in a developmental context will be considered advantageous.
- Proficiency in English is mandatory. Basic knowledge and ability to speak one or two of the local languages common in the Northeast is beneficial. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is a plus.

This position is deemed high-risk concerning Child Safeguarding as it entails direct contact with children and works with child safeguarding response mechanisms. Additional scrutiny and assessments for high-risk roles in child safeguarding apply, which could include additional criminal background checks.

Job Opening 2: Child Protection Officer (GBV)
Location: Borno
Role Requirements
To qualify as an advocate for every child, you will need:
- A University Degree in a relevant field such as International Development, Human Rights, Psychology, Sociology, International Law, or other related Social Science fields.
- A minimum of 2 years of progressive professional experience implementing Child Protection and GBV programs in emergencies.
- Proven capability to work independently under challenging conditions, including protracted conflict environments.
- Experience working with community structures and/or religious groups and leaders at the grassroots level on GBV prevention and response, including survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.
- Demonstrated experience in developing proposals and budgets for resource mobilization, managing partnerships, and writing donor reports.
- Proficiency in English is required. Basic knowledge and ability to speak one or two of the local languages common in the Northeast is beneficial. Knowledge of another official UN language or a local language is an advantage.
