We are hiring for the following roles:

Head of Treasury

Location: Lagos

Job Summary
The Head of Treasury oversees treasury and liquidity operations across VFD Group and its affiliate businesses.
This position sets strategic direction and ensures effective execution of treasury activities, investment decisions, risk policies, and capital optimization efforts.
The person reports to the Group CEO and is responsible for designing and executing systems that enhance financial risk management and support expansion goals through structured asset-liability oversight.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership:

  • Direct the creation and delivery of treasury strategy to aid long-term financial goals and capital effectiveness.
  • Act as a strategic partner to the Group CEO and Executive Team on funding and investment planning.
  • Offer financial insights that guide the Group’s strategic actions.
  • Align the work of treasury, finance, business development, and investments for value maximization.
  • Lead automation and system enhancements to improve treasury operations and controls.

Core Treasury & Liquidity Operations:

  • Manage cash, settlement, and fund movement functions across the company.
  • Maintain effective liquidity management and cash optimization procedures.
  • Prepare and present cash flow forecasts and liquidity ratios.
  • Lead the management of FX, equity, and fixed-income portfolios.

Investment Execution:

  • Drive investment plans in multiple asset classes under guidance from the Executive Director and Board.
  • Track investment returns and benchmark performance.
  • Explore new instruments and investment channels with the risk and strategy teams.

Asset & Liability Management (ALM):

  • Design and execute frameworks for duration matching, interest risk, and ALM reporting.
  • Produce regular reports for ALCO with analysis of liquidity and capital usage.
  • Ensure effective fund structuring to control cost and maintain financial strength.

Contributory Fund Oversight:

  • Manage fund allocation to support key Group operations.
  • Ensure timely and compliant collection, use, and tracking of contributed funds.
  • Support committee meetings and maintain clear records and reports.

Risk & Governance:

  • Uphold treasury risk policies and monitor exposure limits.
  • Collaborate with Compliance and Audit teams for regulatory adherence.
  • Review and maintain treasury-related documentation.

Reporting & Stakeholder Relations:

  • Submit timely financial reports to the CEO, Directors, and relevant committees.
  • Provide inputs for fundraising, audits, and investor presentations.
  • Build professional ties with banks, agencies, and key stakeholders.

Business Support:

  • Contribute to initiatives that improve the Group’s capital base and expansion efforts.
  • Partner with other units to promote profitability and strategic objectives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Finance, Economics, or Accounting. MBA preferred.
  • Recognized certifications like CFA, ACA, ACCA, or ACT are beneficial.
  • 10+ years of experience, 5+ years in leadership roles in treasury or finance.
  • Background in financial services or holding companies is a plus.

Key Competencies:

  • Deep understanding of corporate treasury, FX, and investment platforms.
  • Experience in managing ALM structures and funding operations.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Solid modeling, analysis, and negotiation abilities.

Executive Director, Risk & Critical Functions

Location: Lagos

Job Summary
This executive-level role ensures strong risk management and oversight across VFD Group.
The Executive Director shapes the enterprise-wide risk framework and leads functions such as compliance, internal control, regulatory alignment, and operational risk.
The role requires strategic thinking to handle risk in a constantly evolving economic and regulatory space.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Risk Oversight:

  • Define and update the company’s risk direction in line with strategic goals.

  • Strengthen risk frameworks to suit the company’s structure and operations.

Risk Governance:

  • Oversee credit, legal, ESG, operational, liquidity, and other risk areas.

Business Continuity & Culture:

People & Culture Leadership:

  • Lead and grow a strong team of Heads of Risk, Compliance, and Internal Control.
  • Promote ethical leadership, innovation, and accountability.
  • Build succession plans and develop future risk professionals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s in Risk, Finance, Law, or related field. MBA preferred.
  • Certified professionals (FRM, CFA, CRM, CISA, ICA) are highly recommended.
  • 15+ years of experience, with at least 5 in senior roles interfacing with regulators or boards.
  • Deep knowledge of local and global financial regulations.

Chief of Staff

Job Summary
The Chief of Staff supports the GMD/CEO by aligning investments and strategy across different regions.
