Operations Safety Engineer (OSE)
Location: Lagos (with occasional site visits)
Job Summary:
Work with the DW FOPS Operations Safety Leader to ensure that personnel, equipment, services and processes meet all regulatory codes, company policies and industry best practices for safety and environment. Engage across field operations to promote HSE philosophy and training, aiming to strengthen the company’s safety culture. Track annual HSE performance for DW Field Operations against set objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the DW FOPS Operations Safety Leader in applying Health, Safety & Environment standards per the One MAESTRO and other company HSE systems.
- Lead HSE awareness programmes and ensure site teams comply with statutory and company HSE requirements.
- Collect and report HSE statistics for onshore and offshore field operations weekly, including anomaly and incident trends.
- Maintain records of HSE training needs and compliance in SafePass, HSEPass and ePOB; monitor and report weekly.
- Review incident notifications and Synergi cases, follow up on corrective actions from investigations and audits.
- Prepare HSE event reports and support quarterly HSE Committee meetings.
- Plan and produce monthly HSE performance reports; coordinate contractors’ HSE audits and inspections, including OPERSAFE and MAESTRO.
- Take part in hazard studies and risk assessments to ensure safe operations and manage risks appropriately.
- Specify and procure HSE consumables and equipment; liaise with supply chain to deliver to sites.
- Monitor the HSE consumables purchase process (PRs, POs, SES) and escalate any delays.
- Lead safety reviews for modification requests and degraded situations (HAZOP, HAZID).
- Support tender risk assessments and budget tracking to ensure plans align with IOP.
- Develop and distribute HSE lessons learned (REX) and follow up on recommendations.
- Oversee implementation of the DW FOPS HSEQ activity plan and review key HSE documents.
- Deliver and track HSE training for division personnel and new arrivals.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and planning.
Educational Requirements:
- Degree in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Petroleum or Safety Engineering.
- Fluent English and strong communication skills.
Professional Experience:
- Minimum 5 years in Oil & Gas (E&P) and at least 3 years in an HSE role.
- Familiarity with safety engineering techniques (HAZOP, PTR, HAZID, audits) in construction and operations.

Project Safety Officer
Location: Nigeria
Line Manager: OIM
Job Summary:
On an FPSO, ensure that HSE standards are implemented, enforced and continuously improved throughout offshore operations. Minimize risks to personnel, environment and assets during construction, commissioning, maintenance or decommissioning phases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hold ultimate authority, delegated by OIM, to stop any work that breaches safety limits.
- Act as Assistant Mooring and HLO when required.
- Apply rules, regulations and procedures relevant to all tasks.
- Manage the Permit to Work system and ensure safety equipment is maintained.
- Organize safety meetings, prepare minutes, and manage accident prevention committees.
- Oversee hazardous materials and waste management onboard.
- Coordinate spill response and pollution control measures.
- Run training drills, safety reporting and ensure gas/oxygen detectors are calibrated and used correctly.
- Monitor H₂S hazards and enforce safe work procedures.
- Supervise crane and boat operations, mooring and hose connections on export tankers.
- Handle crew movement documentation and support security planning with OIM.
Certificates & Training:
- Chief Mate Certificate – STCW95 Reg. II/2 with flag state endorsement.
Professional Qualifications:
- Certified as an Officer in Charge of a Navigational Watch on ships ≥500 GT with ≥12 months approved seagoing service.
- Education and training meeting STCW code A-II/2 for Chief Mates on ships ≥3,000 GT.
- Excellent written and spoken English.

Operations Geologist
Location: Lagos
Job Summary:
Coordinate the company’s geological activities, integrating safety best practices into well planning, data acquisition and operational monitoring.
Key Responsibilities:
- Promote HSE practices in pore pressure prognosis and wellsite operations.
- Liaise with drillers and assets to define well requirements and risk mitigations.
- Plan logistics and supervise deployment of personnel and equipment with service contractors.
- Oversee geological operations (LWD, wireline logging, mud logging, coring, fluid sampling, VSP).
- Prepare timely reports: Well Location, Daily and End-of-Well geological summaries.
- Conduct pore pressure studies before, during and after wells with HQ support.
- Hold service quality meetings and audit equipment with contractors.
- Track and manage formation evaluation costs.
- Share feedback to improve geological operations and coach junior geologists.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure safe operations to prevent accidents and equipment loss.
- Control costs and promote operational efficiency.
Qualifications / Experience Required:
- BSc or MSc in Geology or equivalent.
- At least 12 years of geological operations experience, including pore pressure studies and geosteering.
- Certification from IFP Training in Subsurface Geological Operations.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in multicultural teams.
