Tax Manager, Africa

Location: Lagos
Job Schedule: Full-time

About You and the Role
You will oversee tax obligations across our African operations—Côte d’Ivoire, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, and Rwanda—excluding payroll taxes. In collaboration with our Accounting and Finance teams, you’ll make sure tax entries are accurate in our financial statements, prepare income tax provisions for statutory reports, and manage corporate tax filings. You’ll also work closely with local teams on audits and continuously seek process improvements and tax-saving strategies. You will report to the Head of Tax and partner with each African Country Controller.

What You’ll Do

  • File VAT and other indirect tax returns for all African entities
  • Reconcile tax accounts on a monthly basis
  • Produce audit-ready tax documentation
  • Handle quarterly Corporate Income Tax declarations and payments
  • Coordinate with external preparers to ensure timely CIT filings
  • Review annual income tax provision calculations
  • Assist with transfer pricing reviews
  • Monitor intercompany transactions for tax impacts
  • Maintain the tax calendar for all African countries
  • Support local teams during tax audits
  • Advise other business units on tax matters
  • Update and train internal teams on tax developments
  • Manage relationships with external tax advisors
  • Develop and implement tax planning initiatives
  • Strengthen internal tax controls
  • Provide support for non-African tax needs as required

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Advanced degree or professional tax certification is a plus
  • Minimum 7 years of tax experience with a multinational or big four accounting firm
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Comfortable working across time zones, including U.S. hours
  • Proficient in Excel, Google Sheets, and Microsoft Office Suite

Head of Finance, Africa

About You and the Role
As Head of Finance for Zipline Africa, you will shape financial strategy, drive operational efficiency, and support growth across our African markets. Reporting to our Global Head of Finance (U.S.-based), you’ll partner with local finance teams to safeguard our financial health and prepare Zipline for scalable expansion. You will provide strategic analyses, optimize profitability, and ensure compliance across multiple jurisdictions.

What You’ll Do

Financial Strategy & Leadership

  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the Africa leadership team on budgeting, investments, and growth initiatives
  • Lead forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to maximize resource utilization
  • Identify and implement cost optimization strategies without sacrificing quality
  • Build long-term financial models to guide market entry and expansion decisions

Accounting & Compliance

  • Collaborate with local accounting teams to streamline reporting and close processes
  • Standardize financial procedures in partnership with U.S. finance leadership
  • Support audit activities and compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with tax advisors on cross-border compliance

Operational Finance & Business Partnering

  • Conduct deep-dive analyses to enhance the profitability of our Platform 1 business in Africa

Requirements

  • 8+ years in finance, including at least 2 years in a leadership role at a multinational or high-growth firm
  • Expertise in IFRS and local accounting standards in African markets
  • Proven track record managing finance for operationally intensive businesses
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic analysis skills
  • Excellent stakeholder management and cross-functional collaboration
  • Outstanding communication and leadership abilities

Program Director, Program Medicines

Location: Abuja (FCT)

You’ll lead our program medicines portfolio (HIV, TB, malaria) in Nigeria, driving project planning, resource coordination, KPI tracking, and stakeholder engagement. You will set timelines, manage budgets, and ensure successful project launches with external partners.
